I was randomly re-watching my classic-TV-on-DVD collection, and came across an episode of a 1950s daytime series called "The Garry Moore Show", and after checking IA, noticed I hadn't uploaded it (so I uploaded it).

Anyway, I decided to do a check to see how much of it survives in three of the major television archives. Sadly, it seems little exists of the daytime version in terms of complete episodes (even the episode I uploaded seems to me missing the last segment), though the UCLA Film and Television archive has a large number of 15-minute segments from various episodes (all these segments have the same sponsor...I presume the sponsor had requested a copy of the segment they sponsored, but not the whole episode).

A huge shame!

Hear Hear! Footage of the Garry Moore show is terribly hard to find. It's a terrible shame. And the footage that *is* available is going to cost you an arm and a leg to view, or else you have to make a special appointment at an archive a thousand miles away to view it for an hour without being able to get a copy! Ahhrg! There's *got* to be footage out there somewhere, I mean, they ran from what, 1950 to the mid sixties? I'm particularly looking for the footage that has Ken Carson, Denise Lor and Durward Kirby, but really. It shouldn't be so hard to find. It was a very, very popular program in it's time, and I'm surprised that the footage isn't available to the public. I believe that the Paley Center For Media has a few episodes, but they have not responded to me as to how I can access it.

There is a number of reels available from Garry Moore's personal collection, a list of which is found here:
http://www.libs.uga.edu/media/collections/tv/garrymoore.html

I have contacted them, and as they are currently moving to another building, I was asked to renew my request in a few months. But if any of y'all feel like messaging them as well, we might get them to put their foot down on getting these reels up for us to see!
